sewcalgal's Red and White challenge!

This is m
y red and white quilt from 2012, also a challenge within our guild inspired by the New York Red and White show. Heritage Park in Calgary, Alberta hosts Festival of Quilts every May and one showcase included red and white quilts in 2012. It is a lovely show with quilts hung everywhere possible in a heritage village, a perfect setting.
I created this myself, starting with the cardinal centre block, a pieced block from a book, Go Wild with Quilts by Margaret Rolfe. It just grew from there, adding borders as I wanted using all the red and white fabrics I had collected. I quilted it myself on my midarm machine, with some handquilting in the centre. It is one of my favorites. Who doesn't like a red and white quilt?!

  1. I thought it might have been a ROUND ROBIN! You did a great job with it.

    1. We don't have them where I live in Western Canada either, but I have always loved them, got to see them in my friend's backyard in Montreal, Quebec.
